The General Wine Company sources wines from all over the world, but with a particular focus on small, independent producers. I intend to try it as an ingredient in an Old Fashioned style cocktail, as either a rinse or split base spirit but it seems my intentions of creating a delicious, full bodied, juniper heavy, crisp and sharp cocktail have failed for the time being.

Based on a spirit of corn, wheat and rye, this enduring recipe comprises 22 botanicals with notes of hops, coriander, ginger and sweet orange shining through.Bols Genever Original is an award-winning classic cocktail spirit that combines the mixability of a white spirit and the complexity of a brown spirit. Inn Express provides this information in good faith, but it's important to note that its accuracy and completeness depend on the suppliers.

Based on the original 1820 Bols Genever recipe that was used in many cocktails in the 19th century. They appear in a wide variety of cocktails and can be mixed with other drinks or used in baking – there’s a reason that the sweeter varieties have become staples in many classic desserts! Substitute aged rum or whiskeys with aged Genever and I can guarantee you'd end up with a great cocktail.

Try this beautiful genever in a Red Light Negroni, a Bols classic with Italian bitter liqueur and sweet vermouth.
