I was having second thoughts about the cumin cuz i hated it in Rose 31, but its not even prevalent here. The fragrance to me smells like what I would imagine a Chai custard would smell like if there is such a dessert. It's a tiny bit more like Opium and has a note about five minutes in that is a hint of church incense and then quickly gone. Sometimes I wear it and people say omg I hate this perfume, but to me, there is nothing like the hug of Jungle on a cold winters morning.

I can imagine it would turn very luscious, since it proved unexpectedly transformational and pleasantly surprising on first test. My love affair with this perfume began over twenty years ago, when I smelled it from a distance, on a burlesque dancer.

I can’t wait to wear this perfect cold-weather fragrance, rock it at 50, just like I did at 30, albeit in lower-heeled boots. I had a hard time liking Jungle the first time, but I took the time to get used to it and it has become a great must-have scent in my collection. It’s not exactly spicy and powerful in the empowering designer way, but it’s unusual and smile-inducing once it’s dries down a bit. I might come back to expand on this review if my opinion changes (or the scent once it settles a bit), or when I’m testing it in different seasons/weather (it is winter now). It does NOT have funky notes like body odor Caraway/Cumin or nasty Cloves as the notes breakdown suggests.

I mostly smell cardamom and okay, it's very interesting but there's too much of it - it feels like its spice overpowers other notes way too much. Trust me - never before did the cumin/anise notes in Kenzo Jungle Elephant distsurb me any LESS that tonight! People who make a "like" on a negative opinion must feel exactly the same thing, it's a miracle, like what. I get the whole cold weather/holiday comments, but for me, this fragrance comes alive in the warm months, when it can breathe and move in the breezes. Not quite at all, even though we sense suggestions of mandarin and mango, they serve more to quench the spices than to render the scent sweet.I accidentally played tennis while wearing this and I felt like I was being chased around by a butler holding a plate of fresh out of the oven old fashioned style gingerbread; not the cookies the fudgie kind. I know ladies, most of you have discribed Jungle as a wintery Christmas scent, and don’t get me wrong, it really does smell like heaven when it’s cold outside and cookies are almost ready, all cinnamon buns and Lebkuchen. Overall: a beast mode performer and bold statement, this is the perfect scent to wear as a healthy outlet for rage or intense passion. Not a smoky incense, but something like nag champa sticks fresh from the box, also triggering visions of India. I would even say weare it when you are alone setting the sun on the beach or enjoying the cocktails in exotic resorts.
