I assume if you have a G5 box from BT and check the model number in system settings it will say it’s a G5 and not the DTR T4000 ? is slowly becoming available for home entertainment and BT’s 4K YouView box and Ultra HD sports coverage is helping the cause. Of course with the new functionality there may very likely be a new package available which would include a new box for all taking it, just like getting a T4000 when upgrading to the Sport 4K package. That was a real weakness of my old T2100 – it was frustratingly slow and poorly designed (it needed 6 presses across 4 different buttons to bring up the list of recorded shows! It brings you closer to the action as it is 8 times the detail than standard definition and 4 times the detail of today’s high definition. I'm guessing that this was a demonstration item, but there were no marks whatsoever on anything - not even a fingerprint! What would be the compelling reasons to take their packages and the new STB, compared to subscribing directly to Now TV and BT sport and then streaming on the likes of Apple TV box? Recording shows and accessing them proves a cinch and seems reliable, with the MyTV section of the interface housing recordings and scheduled recordings. Well, haven’t come across the Huawei YouView boxes, and Humax have withdrawn the 1TB version of the HDR 2000T, so they do appear to be abandoning YouView for Freeview Play.Our one issue is that there’s currently very little content available on the Ultra HD channel, outside of the Premiership, Champions League, FA Cup, Premiership Rugby and MotoGP there’s not a lot on.
