It's also worth mentioning that the stereo speakers on the Moto G62 come with Dolby Atmos support – that's not particularly common, especially on budget phones, and it means you can expect audio that's above par when playing tunes or watching movies on the handset. We've reviewed many Moto phones in the past, and nothing is really changing – which might be a good or a bad thing, depending on your point of view. These handsets can be relied upon for big screens, clean software, value for money and good battery life, while on the flip side you have to settle for some compromises in terms of the display quality, the performance levels, and the capabilities of the cameras. The Moto G62 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 Plus processor – a tweaked version of the original Snapdragon 480 from early 2021. Its aims are largely the same as the phone’s, to deliver 5G on a budget. But like almost every phone in this family since 2019's Moto G7, the Moto G62’s shell is almost entirely plastic. However, if you didn’t have the Moto G82 to hand to make such comparisons, the Moto G62’s camera isn’t what you’d call a failure.
The numerous budget style aspects of the build don’t matter much if you use the bundled case, which comes in the box. This leaves the one metal outer part of the phone exposed, the part you’ll touch a bunch of times a day: the power button. At first glance, the red bars may look like the Nokia G50 and Moto G50 outstrip the Moto G62, but their lower resolutions just require less power, allowing for a better frame rate in the on-screen compute tests. In typical LCD fashion, the Moto G62 loses a bit of brightness when viewed off-axis – not a big problem – and its peak brightness is not super-impressive either. In testing it delivered a maximum of 513 nits when out in strong direct sunlight, where some phones from a rung or two up can reach 650 to 770 nits. It makes a big difference for display visibility when outdoors. In the case of Motorola Moto G62 5G, you are getting a top-notch processor, which can easily handle any multi-tasking, long gaming sessions, and heavy usage in a pretty smooth manner. It doesn’t do too badly when digitally zoomed in, either. The macro camera is fine, if not great, and the zoom works well up to a point. You won’t get much quality if you go as high as 8x, but the 3x magnification and below retains enough detail in the stonework to be useful if you absolutely can’t get any closer.In the old days, Bluetooth was the sole medium to transfer data wirelessly. But nowadays, Bluetooth basically severe to connect different devices. The upgrade proves effective here, delivering multi-core scores that pull 5.6% ahead of the Moto G50 and outstripping the Nokia G50 by more than 10%. While the Moto G50’s 720p screen helped it last for over 25 hours in our test, the improved 1080p panel used here is more power hungry. Coming in at a hair over 21 hours, the Moto G62 5G still puts in an impressive display, edging just ahead of the Nokia G50 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11.
