If you're using a mitre saw, simply set it to 45° degrees and make the cut. Make sure you're cutting the correct end and in the correct direction as it's easy to make a mistake! Top Tip: Although we assume that all room corners are 90 degree angles, in reality this is not always the case and measuring corner angles is an important part of fitting skirting so don’t skip this step!

I need to cut the necessary mitres on my skirting board, the board is 170 odd high and my dear old mitre saw wont handle the depth and wont take it lying down, so to speak.
