I did the entire ceiling and thankfully due to thinning it out I was able to smooth it over with plenty of time. The roller is made from a special foam that gives even coverage and the wiper has an easy glide flexible edge designed to leave no tram tracks. You can get a relatively smooth finish if you apply it correctly, but a little sanding to remove small tram lines is very quick.
